回家的感觉是很好的。只是，在槟城自由自在(自生自灭)惯了，没人敢管我，回到来，每天都被妈妈骂，还真不习惯。妈妈看我，每天都很有意见，老说我不懂得照顾自己啦，不运动啦，体弱多病啦，不懂得照顾女儿啦，煮的菜太油太咸啦，乱七八糟一大堆。唉，妈妈就是妈妈。我当然知道她的苦心，可是要让自己习惯挨骂却又不吭声实在是一件很难的事。看着爸拔和妹妹们四两拨千金的功力，还真让我自叹不如！再过些时候吧，相信我的道行和EQ会变得高一点。我爱我的家！

"When I was a little girl, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage, and extremely burned toast in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his toast, smile at my mom, and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember Watching him smear butter and jelly on that toast and eat every bite!When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad For burning the toast. And I'll never forget what he said: 'Baby, I love burned toast.' Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if He really liked his toast burned. i dont understand.

i wake up early at 6am every morning, prepare for my lessons, go to work, supervise the reno, come home, bathe and dinner, prepare for lessons again, and BAM!!! the clock hits 11pm and another day ends. my poor little girl always wait for me to coax her to sleep. i m so selfish and i dont want to sacrifice the play with her before bed, cause that's my only time with her! she sleeps so late nowadays, cause her mommy doesn't seem to have enough hours in the day!! i feel so bad!! i m not teaching her anything and we do not have much quality time together ... but seriously, how am i supposed to teach her and play with her when i m running around just trying to keep things up? everything takes longer then i think and to be frank, not feeling stressful is nearly impossible.

some ppl ask, u r just teaching in kindergarten, what's there to do? i m not sure abt other kindy, but our kindy is really a hectic one. look at my pending work list now, i have to do a chart for spelling result, prepare the homework for chinese class, prepare the monthly & weekly lesson plan, prepare myself to teach the egyptian dance for our K2 graduation, prepare K2's art & craft sample for august, prepare some teaching materials and wall charts for my class. all these take a lot of time, believe me. i dont know how the rest of the teachers survived through, but for ME, i only have 1 primary focus, everything i do is to head towards this goal, that is to own my own kindergarten and run it together with my 2 sis!!! i know i should slow down since i won't start commencing a school till 2010 end, but i just think i need to learn more and more ... that's why i refuse to let go any learning opportunity that could enhance my experience.

i dont know how. really. i have been thinking to quit for the past few weeks, cause i want to spend more time at home with my little girl for at least another few months before she attends nursery ... but it is really hard to let go ... my K2 class, my lovely K2 kids, the egyptian dance ... hai ... what am i supposed to do?

Renovations

our renovations are still underway but at more rapid pace these days. we have so far completed all the hackings, plumbing, tiling, wiring, plaster ceiling and half way through the painting ... somewhat, choosing paint colors was really painful and frustrating because of the seemingly infinite options. i chose a few colors from the paint chips, but when the painter tried them on the walls and some of them just looked NOTHING like i envisioned!! the painter almost gone crazy after a few trips cuz i really couldnt get the "right tone" of GREEN!! (we need to use green in many areas due to geomancy reason.) GREEN?! omg, how nice can it be?? i really dont know. i can tell u, it is really hard to choose nice green tones for so many different areas. i had a tough time getting just right after all the jumps.

me: yes, we usually see lightning when it is raining. there is "no" lightning now because it is not raining.

chloe: "no" lightning ... 没有raining ah?

me: yes ... it is "not" raining now. when it is raining, you can hear the rain pounding on the window and the roof. listen, it is not raining now.

chloe: 没有 raining ...

can you see ... she started to speak broken english with "la la leh leh" and a little bit of chinese here and there ... hai ... it's all mommy's fault.

k ... it is fairly obvious that I haven’t been around here much lately and it has been quite a while since my last update about little Chloe. i will try to post more pics later.

i was back to kindy again, teaching k2 now. phew ... cant imagine, being a kindy teacher is much harder than most people could imagine. the work is hard, and there is so much to do, and never-ending lists. however you are never bored, the people who work in kindyland are all lovely and the kids become such an important part of your life. well, of cos i wont want to do this forever, but it is a learning process that i m pretty much enjoying with. the fun i have had always outweighs the stress! while busying with the kids, i m busying with our reno too! i m getting very paranoid and sick of renovation ... our reno has been ongoing for 1 mth plus and still not done. gosh ... i really need a break and i am hoping that time will pass faster so that i can have my new home very soon!! will try to post some of the reno pics soon.

need to apologize. i know that many of you keep visiting my blog and hoping to receive updates on Chloe. well, little Chloe is fine. very naughty as usual and she has learnt this yago pose recently (hubby really likes it). hubby said i MUST post this picture. hahaha, isnt she cute?

Maid

my maid is going back on april, and we have yet to get a new one. i think i m going to hire a philipino maid this time.

my current maid is our very first maid. she is 28 yo, muslim, divorced and has 1 son. initially i thought she was quite lazy, not very honest and has a bit of attitude. after having her for 1 year plus, now i think she is quite ok. i think she adores chloe and she's rather reliable. when i mention reliable, meaning when i instructed her to get certain things done, it would be done. of course there are times that we need to close one eye when come to certain things, and she has other characters that i really dislike (eg. find lots of excuses when she does things wrong, never admit own fault, sometimes do things according to her own liking, tend to "forgot" my instructions, so on and so on.), but overall, she's ok ... and if i would have to leave her and chloe at home for few hours, i m not that worried. one thing i like about her is her personal hygiene is pretty good, she bathes and washes hair twice a day, and she's not smelly.

at first she told us she's going to renew, but after she spoke to her mother on phone, she said she needs 2 months break cuz her grandma has just passed away. not that i dont want to wait for her ... but i think she doesnt have the heart to work anymore. well, she's human being afterall. just like myself, i m now thinking of the new year break and my germany trip, so i simply just dont feel like working at all. same thing for her i guess. therefore, we have decided to get a new maid. at the moment, we are quite worried ... cuz we r not sure if the new maid is going to be ok. really have to pray hard on this.

My Little Growing Up Darling

Little Chloe turns 20 months old today. It will be her 2nd birthday in 4 months time. OMG, i cant believe that!!

Updates on my little darling:

She has learnt loads of vocabs that I cant really count them anymore, for eg. 美美, 宝贝, 按哪里, morning, gai gai (going out), nice, tv, eat, potty, moon, star, sky, bird, milk, happy … so on and so on. She understands most of the things we say now and will try to convey things she wants to express too.
She says some funny funny sentences now which I totally don’t know what she means. Hehe.

She has very good memory and she’s mimicing quite a lot too. That day, I asked her if the fruit juice was “NICE”? she answered me “nai”. I corrected her and say, not “nai”, it is “nice”, then she quickly said “nai’-‘ssssssss”. Haha. So cute. Then now she knows how to say “nice”.

Everytime when she sees others kids, she will sure asks me, “baby ah?” Faint. Big kids also she calls them babies.

She loves watching herself in the mirror and in photos. I have no idea how she picked it up but she ran to the big mirror the other day when I put a clip on her hair. When she looked into the mirror, I said “美美” (pretty), then she said “美美 ah?” Sometimes she even said “宝贝美美.” Hahahaha.
She will pick her own shoes while I take her out for stroll now. She will push away the shoes that she doesn’t like and point to the shoes that she likes. She has 4 pair of shoes. All PINK!! i should have bought some other colors.

She will point to the TV and asks us to play DVD for her. If I say, “Wanna watch TV? Sit on the couch!” she will say, “sit” and quickly runs to the couch and sits down. CUTE!

Now she’s down to one nap a day.
Long distance relationship with daddy for the past 1 month. She always point to the phone and say “dady ah?” There was once when she was in such a happy mood when her daddy called, she said, “daddy … morning … sky … gai gai (going out) …” hahaha … then hubby interpret those as, “daddy, good morning, see how beautiful the sky is. I m going to “gai gai” now.”

Started crying for no reason. Oh my! Terrible two i guess!

She will say bye and give flying kisses to everyone when leaving a place.
I love playing pretend with her. I always pretend to sleep, then she will run to me and wake me up by kissing me. I think she imagine herself as frog prince and I am the sleeping beauty. SUPER CUTE!!

It is amazing to look at these pictures compared to 20 months ago. She makes all of us so very happy and she’s such a gift. Thank you god … for blessing me with my loving family ...

The last couple of weeks have been crazy to say the least and I haven’t really had the time to write ... for that I do apologize. Well ... I supposed to blog about my sister-in-law’s wedding, x’mas, my year-end-accounting, my new year resolution, and of course my little growing up darling, but but but ... I was so physically, mentally and emotionally drained ... 2009 is certainly a tougher year for our industry and I doubt I will hit 50 cases this round. Sigh.

okay, i know this post is long overdue, and we have been back from Taipei for more than a week now ... let me post some of the pics here and let those pics do the talking. however, i must say, taipei is definitely a heaven for chinese book lovers and foodies like me.

DAY 1

YES! this is the very famous 士林夜市！

tell you! the 蛤仔煎, 大鸡扒and香芒雪花冰are SUPER DUPER YUMMY! anyone who visit shilin night mkt, die die must try their mango ice!! it really tastes so much better than the HK mango ice that we can find in Spore. the taiwanese have their mangoes cut up in bigger cubes and they’re REALLY sweet! the ice is so smooth & fruity and almost sorbet-like ... unlike the ice kacang we have ... it melts once in your mouth and you could taste the natural mango flavour in every mouthful of snow ice ... YUMM YUMM!

DAY 3

if you wanna try royal delicacies, 京兆尹 is a must-go for you!

no kidding! their royal "dim sum" taste so special.

3:00pm SF brought us to miniature musuem after lunch ... it is a world of enchantment with a collection of miniature houses, room boxes, dolls, miniature antique cars, toys and others.

11:30am pat pat they all going to 北投. i decided to split with them and do my book shopping alone. i headed to one of the 诚品bigger outlet in 敦化南路. wow, it is a well stocked 3-storey (or 4) book store ... but too bad i couldnt really buy much cuz my luggage was already overweight, and it was really upsetting. sigh.

5:30pm Melody met up with us after work and brought us to 星光三越 and one of the night market that's near her house.

this night market has so much to eat ... 臭豆腐here is definitely a

must-try! It smelled like sewage ... eww ... but it taste

yumm yumm when you put it into your mouth.

DAY 6

little chloe is doing well. the past couple of days chloe has picked up some new vocabs. few days ago, she came out with the word "yiyi" while i was talking to sis, yesterday she said "baby", and today she said "happy", "eat", "moo moo" and "mimi (meaning mommy)" ... it is amazing that she's picking up new words DAILY! she's mimicing quite a bit too! i said "cloud" the other day, and she copied me. it didnt come out exactly, in fact it sounded like "out", but it was VERY CUTE! haha. she likes to sit in her baby cot and flips through her books quietly. she likes moving backward and sit on the stairway like ah-ma.

you may have noticed that my word count has been down for the past few weeks. hmm ... i've not been writing much lately. my brain has apparently decided to take a mediocre break and to remain reticent for a moment.

1. mh’s ex-bf died in a pub incident.

2. my foreign student, Jian Yu and her mom died in the Yishun mass murders case. CID called me up to assist them in investigation cuz I m Jian Yu’s official guardian.

p/s: frankly speaking, these 2 incidents made me really e-mo recently, but i'm not going into details.

3. as most of you already knew, my London trip has been called off due to man-made factors … anyway, i m happy to announce that I have confirmed my taiwan trip with friends on 28th oct – 2nd nov. time to relax! yeah!

4. i have applied for 4 months unpaid leave cuz i m taking up assignments in Spore again.

5. started to work on condo reno recently. tell you, renovations are NOT cheap even on a NEW CONDO! things like solid surface countertops, backsplashes and wall cladding (I mean kitchen) cost a lot of money. ripping original tiles out, buying and installing new tiles are going to cost real money too! gosh! i really need to spend some time, sit down and work out on paper our budget and what the costs are likely to be. headache.

6. i have just celebrated my 31st birthday last friday! i'm so thankful for another precious year to play with my little girl, absolutely love each day with dear hubby, time to spend with family, spiritually grow closer to god, and so much more!!

7. as for little chloe, she’s growing up so fast. she has a very strong personality (meaning “stubborn”). she loves music and dancing. she starts to dance whenever she hears music. i will post some of her recent pics up very soon.

hmm, really miss my family a lot. miss papa, mommy, way way and jie jie. the good thing is, I m going back home end of the month. yeah yeah yeah! i must clear my mind up asap and prepare myself for the taiwan trip.

在職場工作中，「溝通」是一件很重要的事 > 不管是對上司、屬下、同仁、客戶，或對各接洽商談的單位，都需要更好的溝通技巧，這亦即所謂的『人際溝通』。

然而，在職場中，難免會碰到許多不如意的事，也會遭遇挫折，這時，自我心情的調適，或自我不斷的激勵，就是所謂的『自我溝通』。有時我們在溝通時會不自覺地用一些『否定式』、『命令式』、或『上對下』的說話方式，例如：『你錯了，你錯了，話不能這麼說』，或是『唉呀，跟你說過多少次了，你這樣做不行啦，你怎麼那麼笨，跟你講你都不聽…』。一般來說，人都不喜歡『被批評、被否定』，但是，有時我們在言談間，卻不知不覺地流露出『自我中心主義』和『優越感』，覺得自己都是對的，別人都是錯的。

可是，有句話說：『強勢的建議，是一種攻擊』。有時，即使我們說話的出發點是良善的、是好意的，但如果講話的口氣太強勢、太不注意到對方的感受，則對方聽起來，就會像是一種攻擊一樣，很不舒服。所以，有時候我們的心中會有一種慨嘆… 你知道嗎？其實，我滿贊同你的想法，但我很不喜歡你『講話的口氣』。其實，我滿同意你的見解，但我很不喜歡你『講話的態度』。有時，我們會說：『我這個人很理性啊，你看，我的門都是開的，大家隨時都可以進來和我溝通啊』。可是，如果『我們的門是開的，心卻是關的』，又有什麼用呢？因此，在溝通時，必須注意到對方的感受，畢竟每個人都有『自我尊嚴感的需求』，每個人都希望被肯定、被讚美、被認同、被附和，而不喜歡被否定、被輕視。所以，即使雙方意見不同，但必須做到『異中求同、圓融溝通』，『有話照說，但口氣要委婉許多』。

中國人造字很有意思，想想『我』這個字，是哪兩個字的組合呢？是『手』和『戈』。

「我」字，竟然就是「每個人手上都拿著刀劍、武器」。所以每個人都常做「自我防衛」，來保護自己。但是，在溝通時，人除了防衛自己之外，也要站在別人的立場來想，善用「同理心」，也學習控制自己的『舌頭』，『在適當的時候，說出一句漂亮的話；也在必要的時候，及時打住一句不該說的話』。因此，我們必須學習『不要急著說、不要搶著說，而是要想著說』。絕對不要『逞口舌之快』而後悔。因為說話是沒『橡皮擦』、沒有『立可白』的，不能再把話擦掉呀！

另外，職場溝通中 > 我們必須學習『情緒忍受力』和『挫折容忍力』。因為，『脾氣來了，福氣就沒有了』。在我們碰到棘手的問題時，必須先靜下來、勿衝動行事，也學習『先處理心情、再處理事情』，免得事情愈弄愈糟糕。

Sex And The City

hahaha, dont get me wrong when you see the following pictures. of cos i m not saying we resemble any one of the 4 characters in the Sex & The City. nevertheless, the movie makes me think of my buddies. i m now 30 and i’ve been keeping up a few female friendships from my childhood, college and work place. they are my gang, my close friends. i value them enormously and we make time for each other from time to time, despite being busy with family, work and living in different cities. when we get together over a cup of coffee at café/bistro/restaurant, we have the same frivolous conversations about life, family, travel, work and shopping sprees, just like what the foursomes do in the movie ... their friendship is a reflection of a close bond which I have been long missing cuz I am sooooo far away from my buddies now and I miss them so so much. i must say ... except for spending quality time with family, one of my greatest enjoyment would be spending a whole afternoon with female friends and chit chatting over a cup of coffee ... by the way, i really love this movie!

I’M SOOOOOOOOO VERY PROUD OF OUR LITTLE DARLING!!!!! SHE FINALLY BEGAN TO WALK!!

for the past 2 months, she's been walking around with holding on to at least 1 of our fingers. on 30th, in the evening, she suddenly stood up from her potty and took about 3-4 steps towards me. i was telling hubby that i guess we are not far from the day when she could freely walk around on her own ... then the next day, she took 20 steps walking towards a bookshelf WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. i was like ARHHHHH!! ... i didn’t have my camera or camcorder with me!!!! gosh!!!! ... but well, now it is official that she’s walking !! i’m so happy that she finally hits this very important milestone in her life. everytime when she walks, you can see happiness all over her face and i must say she looks super duper cute! ... i thank my lord for all the precious & happy moments that i spent with my little darling and the way he allows me to enjoy my little girl ...

Those Good Old Days

every now and then, i do think of perth ... it is a very unique feeling browsing at those old photos. feeling of nostalgia at the good old days that i spent there, the university and those people i met ... i also think of the dim sum restaurant, the very cheap & delicious japanese food and remember how we enjoyed gelare ice cream, chili mussels and the yummy milk shake at the cosy fast eddys during winter ... well, if u stayed in perth before, then u must know what am i talking about. anyway, i just miss everything about perth. there were time when i had nothing to do, i just icq, read, sleep, enjoy the breezy and cool air as i walking past the houses and heading towards campus.

i miss brisbane too. i was there for a few months (cant really remember how long exactly) while visited hubby (boyfriend at that time) ... the 3 monkeys (speak no evil, hear no evil, see no evil) café, the casino (trying my luck at casino while waiting for hubby to finish lessons), the fascinating gold coast and many many more ... wow, i really love these 2 cities. not melbourne, not sydney, but these 2 places so enchanting in many ways if you know how to appreciate it.

Chloe At 14 Months!

after working in a preschool, i realised that not all babies enjoy eating. that's unbelievable! my little darling absolutely loves eating!! whatever food you put in her mouth, she would certainly finish it and ask for more. i dont know if this is good or bad for a girl! her menu includes fish, pumpkin, cabbage, purple cabbage, capsicum, sweet potato, potato, carrot, black wood fungus, tofu, various kind of green leafy vege, avocado, grape, apple, pear, honeydew, strawberry, blueberry, mango ... em, what else? cant recall now ...
she's able to walk around with minimal assistance. i have to let her hold on to my 1 finger (at least), if not she will just squats down and refused to walk. she can also balances on her own for a few seconds.
she has been on "baby can read" series since 6 months old. me and hubby are quite amazed that she can actually recognizes some of the "words". here, i m not talking about recognizing "sounds", i m talking about the "words". she sees certain words then she will do the action accordingly and pronouces the word before the tv do so, eg. tongue, one of her favourite, when the tv flashes the word "tongue", she will say "tongue" then stick out her tongue before the tv says so. i m not sure if she really recognizes the "word", or she remembers the "order of the word". besides, she understands the names of quite a number of animals too, but she is more interested in the sounds those animals make, rather than their names. for instance, whenever we say, "puppy says", then she will makes the sound "wou wou" (dog's bark). i often tell her, little parrot makes the sound of "你好吗", haha, she loves it! after reading elaine's blog, i have decided to come out with a list of the vocabs she understands now, here it is: arms up, arms down, head, shouder, knee, toes, shake hand, eye, ear, mouth, nose, tongue, dog, puppy, cat, kitten, horse, foal, chicken, chick, duck, duckling, pig, piglet, parrot, elephant, lion, tiger, tree, flower, milk, diaper, read, book, ball, biscuit, eat, brush, fan, spinning, happy, next, thank you, sayang and etc. i m not too sure about the rest. we have introduced her lots of words, but m not sure if she really understands. baby enstein has helped a lot, i often show her "numbers nursery", "world animals", "neighborhood animals" & "baby da vinci". she is on "baby can read" vol 2 now. she really enjoys it, but i try to limit her tv time to 2x a day, each time around 15 - 20 mins. i would like to cut it down further if possible.
she enjoys passing things to us now, and this will earns her a "thank you". she really likes to hear "thank you". she keeps passing the same thing to us, and after hearing "thank you", she would get back the item, then pass to us again in order to gain another "thank you". hahaha. so cute.
she knows how to read my mood. if i m angry with her, she will either keeps calling me "mama" or she will show her frustrated face too.
she knows how to pretend when she doesnt want kisses. sometimes when we r trying to kiss her, and she doesnt like it, she will pretends pointing at certain things, trying to divert our attention. anyway, her trick never works. lol ... and guess what, she loves kissing barney, making us so jealous. hng.
oh, how i love my this little darling ...

what've i been doing lately? well, i've been sick for the past 2 weeks ... flu, cough, sorethroat, running nose, gastric, whatever u may think of!! my immune system has been facing big challenges, cuz i have started teaching in a preschool few weeks back. yaya ... you've heard me correctly, I M A PRESCHOOL TEACHER NOW. okay? those monkeys are giving me terrible headache!! i think their butts are probably triangle-shaped, if not maybe there are durian's thorns on their chairs, cuz they just cant seem to sit STILL for more than a few moments. their parents must have implanted running machine in them, make them running so fast and so long non-stop. i really take my hat off to them!! ... and me, a no longer young & middle aged woman, have to jump up and down, run here and there, to catch those monkeys from tree top and talking in a dramatic way to catch their attention. wow ... i m totally worn out. hubby, i dont care, i want to go back to spore end of the year. it is really hard to MAKE A LIVING here!! ... and my pay is PEANUT!! ... NUTS IN A NUTSHELL, n, n, n, NUTS IN A NUTSHELL, n, n, n, NUTS IN A NUTSHELL, n, n, n, "n" IS THE SOUND OF "N" (song of phonics)!! ... oh no no, i think my pay is much smaller than a peanut ... maybe ... maybe only the size of a sesame seed...

你知道吗？那天小宝贝真的很可爱哩！我和妹妹心血来潮的给彼此一个拥抱，小宝贝看在眼里心里不爽得很，嘴里拼命发出抗议的声音，企图阻止小姨侵占她最爱的麻麻-我。哈哈。结果，我和妹妹故意重复地抱了又抱，就为了看看小宝贝那一张吃着醋可爱的小脸。真的很kawaii唷！

时光飞逝，不知不觉，小宝贝已经十三个月大了，可是她还是不愿意挣脱妈妈的手，学习自己走路。怎么办？每当我企图放开她的小手让她学着平衡自己的身体时，她一定会赶快蹲下，不让妈妈的“奸计”得逞。真拿她没办法。可说实在的，我是没什么着急啦 (她拔拔比较着急)！想一想，当她学会走路以后，这条路可是要走一辈子的，再也很难有机会让她停下脚步来仔仔细细地欣赏路边美丽的风景，每当想到这里，我就觉得，不要紧啦宝贝，等你准备好了才出发吧！

A Letter From Heaven

She jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: 'How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?'

The surgeon said, 'I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it.'

Sally said, 'Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?'

The surgeon asked, 'Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university.'

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair.

'Would you like a lock of his hair?' the nurse asked.

Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally.

The mother said, 'It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the University for Study. He said it might help somebody else. 'I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom.' She went on, 'My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could.'

Sally walked out of Children's Mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car.

The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room.

She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She laid down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.

It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The letter said :

'Dear Mom, I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say 'I Love You'. I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day. Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know.

Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom? God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you.

God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him 'Where was He when I needed him?' 'God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children. Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool? I have to give God His pen back now. He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm sure the food will be great.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore. The cancer is all gone. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel said I was a Special Delivery! How about that?

This chained mail made me think of those who lost their children in the earthquake. It has been 22 days after the devastating quake, the event is no longer headline news, but long term recovery is still quietly unfolding for millions of people. For those who lost their next-of-kin in this catastrophic event, sure the pain will never go away, but it will slowly, slowly, slowly ease in intensity. At our end, please extend your helping hands to those who suffered from the Sichuan earthquake as well as the Myanmar cyclone. Guess financial contribution is the least we can do. I sincerely pray for all victims' safety and peace.

My Phuket Trip!

Finally ... I managed to find some time to upload these pictures. This Phuket trip was absolutely terrific!The island has so much to do that it's impossible to fit everything in one visit. Despite all the hiccups along the way, we did have a few jolly good days and i fully intend to visit this little island again.

We spent our 1st day at Patong Beach area for Thai massage and shopping ... it was then followed by a dinner at the famous seafood restaurant, Savoer. The food was totally YUMMY!

DAY 2, we hired a cabbist to take us around the island. He brought us to Phuket town, cashew nut factory, souvenir store and the Patong Market. We managed to squeeze in a 2 hours oil body massage right before our buffet dinner & cultural show at Phuket FantaSea. Shiok!

DAY 3, we have decided to join the Phuket Siam Seacanoe whole day cruise tour. Our first stop was Lawa Island where we had an absolutely fun time swimming and canoeing. The water was soo clear and you could see some small little little fishes swimming around you ... BUT, we forget to bring water resistant sun block so we were kinda "cooked" after the 1 hour swimming session.

I managed to get a very good "coach" (ya, the young man in blue) and picked up my canoeing skill very quickly.

This is the famous James Bond Island.

Lunch was provided and the food was simply DELICIOUS!!!

They called these sea caves "Hong Island". The caves are the result of millennia-long erosion, making the roofs of sea caves collapse in and thereby creating an almost perfect micro-environment where wildlife and flora can exist in peace. The staffs brought us into these sea caves by canoeing.

It's time for 2 tired moms to go home ... i miss my baby so much ...

Sichuan Earthquake

It has been 13 days after the Sichuan 7.9 magnitude earthquake.

Throughout the past 2 weeks, i have shed more tears than i had for the past 2 years ...

Each day, i read newspaper first thing in the morning and followed the tv news closely to get updates ... however i simply refused to blog about it ... why? cuz my heart is so so painful and sad to see all these happened ...

There are children whose parents were confirmed dead or missing ...

There were parents who protected their children at the expense of their own lives ...

There were teachers who rescued their students regardless of their own safety ...

Soldiers' hands were bleeding as they clawed through the debris to save more lives ...

i just couldnt stop my tears from rolling down ... I feel grief stricken especially for those who lost their children ...

God, why is this happening?

We threw a tea party for Chloe's 1st lunar calendar birthday on wednesday and invited all hubby's relatives to come over. It worked out well and the food was simply yummy!! It was a great success with much fun and talk to go around ... however, little Chloe was greatly frightened when she saw so many strangers around ... she simply refused to entertain them!!

Anyway, we are going to have another birthday party for Little Chloe on her actual birthday! I am soooo EXCITED! Why? Because the next birthday party is going to be at papamommy's place! yes yes! I M GOING HOME!! ... and we planning to invite all our close friends and their little one to join us for the celebration. Strictly NO RELATIVES ya?!

我：老公，我在看这个yahoo blog 一屋四人一日一志，里面的MamA一家很幸福哩。看下看下 (malaysia华语)，提醒了我，幸福原来可以是那么简单的。

老公：是啦！(还搞不清楚状况就立刻赞同，并乘机教训我。) 你已经很幸福了，还在每天为那些芝麻绿豆的小事不开心。

我：老公，我也觉得自己很幸福 ... 每次，当chloe很贴心地依偎在我怀里时，我就感觉很幸福 ... 每次，当chloe喊我mama时，我就感觉很幸福。每次，和chloe玩得兴高采烈时，我就感觉自己很幸福。每次，当握着chloe的小手教她学习走路时，我就感觉很幸福。老公，因为有chloe，我感觉自己很很很幸福！

老公：是啦！(一副“你现在才知道啊？”的样子。) 你已经很幸福了(repeat)！要知足懂吗？=-=

其实，我并非不知足啦 ... 只是常常对人对事对生活都要求很高，所以才搞到自己那么辛苦。sorry hor ... 不开心时老是乱乱blog，让大家担心了。well, 问题当然还没解决，我也不觉得有什么办法能够解决，可是每一次的风波都让我有个沈思的机会，检讨一下自己对长辈的行为及态度是否真的正确。长辈总是长辈，无论她的心态有多错，行为有多无理，作为小辈的我们唯有尽量包容、包容再包容。她要的，其实只是attention, respect and love。当我们已尽力了，问题还是没法解决的话，我们也就问心无愧了。

i know i haven't been updating this blog much lately ... things have been very hectic for me and hubby, part of it cuz we have been really busy with the house & car searching, settling down and stuff like that ... another reason ... I know it's weird ... but I just don't feel like writing.

anyway, pls accept my apology for the lack of posting as of late. let me give you guys an update after a long lapse of no news.

firstly, we found out that hubby's eldest uncle (dua gu) is down with blood cancer, 4th stage. when talking to hubby's cousin, I could feel how upset he is from the way he talks. however, i have faith that if dua gu strictly follow those methods that cancer survivors provided, he will sure win the battle. jia you, dua gu! my prayers and thoughts are with you!

secondly, we bought our first home in Penang. It is a condo. everyone keeps asking us why a condo? thought everybody in Malaysia should be living in landed cuz the properties are so cheap compared to Spore. Ya ya ... We thought the same too ... but after first round viewing, we were shocked to know that a livable inter-terrace in Penang will easily costs u close to a mil of Ringgit Malaysia. Ya. Only S$400k+ ... but to us, it is still unaffordable cuz we are earning RINGGIT now. after taken everything into consideration, we have decided to buy a brand new, but second hand condo. the first hand owner has at least earned around 150-200k out of it. ya ... timing is the key thing. we are late, so we have to pay the price. the condo looks comfy to me, i really hope to move in asap.

thirdly, FIL spoken to us with regards to MIL's problems. ya ... again ... MIL complained a lot about us. FIL wants us to solve this problem asap, while he thought it might be a good idea for us to move out. sigh ... i am not able to go into details now ... m so damn fed up!

天啊，这一次政治海啸的来临，是大家所始料不及的。投票的当儿，选民绝对没想到，自己手上的那一票会带来如此翻天覆地的改变。也绝对没有人会想到，在没有预警的情况之下，反对党被送上了五个州的执政台。太恐怖了！这是我第一次感觉到原来人民有权力也有力量鞭策不上进的政府，而一部分的人民政治意识提高了，开始懂得团结起来，行使人民的权力。这股“政治意识”在槟城一带尤其强烈，大家都在等着看行动党的表现。倘若接下来这五年行动党做不好，他们大可再行使权力选择换政府。

可是不知为什么，在为突破政治权力一面倒的局面开心的当儿，看着报上排山倒海对Abdullah首相的抨击，我不禁为他感到难过。我不觉得他是一个昏庸无能、一无是处的首相，只是，在面对长久以来以Mahathir文化经营的政府，他渐进式的改革还没能取得显著的效果。可惜的是，马来西亚人民已经等不及了，希望能立刻来个“再转变”。希望，这次的大选成绩能让他有所领悟并在接下来的五年做得更好。

追思会现场直播的那个下午，看着大会播放肥姐过去四十年演艺事业的剪接片段，感触非常非常的深。其中，让我久久不能忘怀的是肥姐的人生座右铭。肥姐说，做人要努力，敬业，愿意吃亏。你知道吗？这句话对我而言，简直有如当头棒喝！因为在这之前，我的字典里头，完全没有“愿意吃亏”这四个字！我做人的原则一向是，你敬我一尺，我敬你一丈；你不犯我，我必不犯你；你对我好，我一定对你更好，你若对我不好，可别想我先对你好。可是，看着肥姐这一生，对人的重情重义与宽厚，以及对演艺工作的敬业乐业与努力，我深深的觉得，也许我应该好好检讨一下自己对人对事的态度。人生无常，在世也不过短短几十年，很多事也许都该看开一些。

在Angie的部落格看到“连心”的这个版本。听着听着欣宜很用心的唱这首歌，我的眼眶不禁再次湿润了。

可以想象吗？我一个人，单枪匹马，开了将近四个小时的车到吉隆坡去跟妹妹和朋友们会合，就为了看一场周大侠的个人演唱会！

是的，演唱会场地真的很差，蚊子真的很多，视觉效果真的很不理想，周杰伦看起来真的好小好小(不是因为他太矮了，而是因为舞台距离我太远了。我买的还是最贵的票哩！@#%@^%@#$@) ... 可是... 他的歌真的好好听喔... 尤其是那首彩虹，天啊，这首歌的现场演绎实在好听得不行!

正因为主角是周杰伦... 一切都变得值得了...

horrors!! we found a snake in the kitchen during noon time. somehow this snake managed to slither into the house without anyone noticing ... then suddenly my mil saw the snake moving towards the fridge! after the snake catcher arrived, he then brought the snake to the nearby forest and release it out again. phew ... i really cant imagine chloe walking around in her walker when this snake quietly slithering around ... oh my goodness ... thank god ...

Chloe Is 9 Months Old!

little chloe keeps calling mama mama nowadays ... but i wonder if she really know wat it means!! she likes to call mama when she needs something and when she wants to be carried ... and guess what?? she kissed me on my lip the other day when i said "kiss mama"!! ... awww ... *melts melts"

what's more? ... she has 2 lower central incisors now, they both sprouted end of Jan, but the top ones aren't through yet ... she likes to bury her face on my shoulder and suck on my shirt ... she can now put her hands together and do "gongxi gogxi" ... she started to wave bye bye ... she started to express the word "no" by shaking her head ... she can play the "twinkle twinkle little star" thing with her hands ... she knows how to fake cry when i m trying to discipline her ... she now knows how to make this cheeky smile when she has done something naughty or when she's playing with us ... aww ... she is soooooooo cute ... she is now looking more and more like a toddler and less like a baby ...

phew ... this chinese new year was so so tiring. we visited many relatives, taken many CNY meals in hotels and restaurants, did many times of "lou sang" ... quite boring indeed. i m so not used to it! when i was home, my family usually cook and eat together ... the feeling is differ ... very heart warming and relaxing. hubby's side of CNY is like ... meeting up with many many relatives, talking to many many people, passing your baby around from person to person ... poor my little chloe, i think they were really freaking her out cuz she is afraid of strangers! sigh ... so this was my very 1st CNY without being together with my family for re-union dinner ... hai, i just miss papa mommy way way and jie jie so so much ...

as for little chloe, this is her 1st CNY, i supposed to get her a nice cheongsam, but i cant seem to find a suitable one ... so, she ended up wearing these ...

Big Bad Mouth

my big bad mouth ... was thinking i could finally wave bye bye to those endless sleepless nights and high strung stress (for not resting well), 'cos chloe has been constantly sleeping through the nights for past 2 months ... hng ... who knows?! there my nightmares come again ...

thurs night, gave her last feed around 9pm and put her to bed, well ... this little baby obviously was very sleepy ... she kept rubbing her eyes and yawn, but yet still refused to sleep ... well well well, after hours of strugglings, she finally fell asleep around 10:45pm ... phew ...

fri night, slept at 9:45pm ... seems ok hor?... but guess what, she woke up in the middle of the night, sitting up, making "eh eh eh" sounds, trying to wake me up!! i reached out my hand and trying to pat her to sleep, she started playing with my hand and giggled at me!! omg! ... luckily, she fell asleep very quickly after about 15 mins of "hand play" ... however, the interruption had already done enough damage!

as a result ... am shattered the whole today and cranky!!

Chloe Is 8 Months Old!

little chloe is now 8 months old!

she loves to crawl, sitting up, pulling up with ease and stand whenever she gets a chance ... she's especially cute when sitting up, 'cos she always put one of her leg forward in order to balance her body.

she gets around quite well these days in her walker, she's walking around like mad ... we really have to keep our eyes on her ...

she's making adorable faces everyday and creating lots of noise too! she is discovering new sounds every now and then ... which is fun! one of the "sounds" she especially likes to make is "is-sh" ... we really don't know what it means ... think we need to use our imagination a bit ... she's SO CUTE when she babbles!!

she is now officially sleeping through the night, from 9:30pm to 7:30am.

she is wearing 12-18 months old clothes and L size for diapers.

she is eating semi-solid and continues to broaden her menu ... she does like sweet potatoes and pumpkins ... she is taking 2 meals and 5 bottles a day.

that's my little chloe ... she's such a big girl now ...

上周末，一家人开了车，北上到马六甲渡假去了。这对我来说可是一项壮举哩，我还真没试过开车开那么远的路程！

说真的，马六甲实在没什么好玩的, 至少我是这么认为的... 可是一家人浩浩荡荡一块儿出游的感觉真的很好、很温馨！你知道吗，看着爸爸妈妈日渐年迈的身躯，我心里不禁有一股莫名的恐惧感，非常非常害怕有一天，他们终究会离我而去... 问妹妹，身为女儿的我们(我们家只有三千金)，至今仍一事无成，经济能力非常有限，能给予父母些什么呢？我想，我们能给予的，也仅仅是多一些的关心与陪伴... 很欣慰的是，小聿恩在家的日子，带给爸爸妈妈很多欢笑与快乐... 真的希望常常有机会能让她多陪陪爸妈... 我相信，这也算是疼爱与孝顺他们的一种方式吧！

Every january, when kids start new school year with fresh hopes, i too set new goals for myself.

THINKING to enrol myself in a master degree program, 8 more units to go.

THINKING of going to Taiwan in march with BA group, London in july with hubby and hopefully Brisbane at the end of the year with papa mommy. Thinking only huh ... so hubby pls dont over-react ...

PLANNING to work in related organisation, hope to gain some hands-on experience and prepare myself for year 2009!

For my little baby, mommy will definitely spend more quality time with u ...

The Stacks Of Books

nowadays, between work and little chloe, there is no time to do anything else. there are these stacks of books on my bedside table remains untouched due to the fact that I can never find the time to read or will always doze off after reading a few pages. (excuse? uh, ya ...) i only put books that i really want to read on the stacks, really. i currently have around 15 books stacked there, there are 5 with bookmarks in them. i m either too busy or too tire to read. (excuse again? eh hem ...) ok la ok la, i think it is a sign of laziness. my goal now is to finish reading all of them by chinese new year. (like real ...)

上了3天两夜的Money & You，学到了很多很多。

我和我积木小组的组员所分享的是：

我很感恩，从小到大，因为家庭环境还过得去，所以我一直都是个蛮幸运的人。我有爱我的父母，感情很要好的妹妹，疼爱我的先生，一个很可爱的女儿，以及很多很要好的朋友。虽然一路走来都很幸运，可是我从不觉得幸福是理所当然的。我相信，生命中所有的幸福都是神所赐予的礼物。因此，我特别特别感恩，特别感谢神所给予我的一切一切。我有一份收入还算不错的职业。因为钱得来比较容易，让我对金钱很没有观念，很不懂得理财。也因为一路走来都很平坦，因此我也变得很没有推动力，没有毅力，很懒散，没有上进心，一直躲在自己的comfort zone里头日复一日，年复一年的生活。我觉得，过去的30年，我都在浑浑噩噩的过日子，没有好好规划我的将来，更没有将梦想付诸行动。我竟白白的浪费了这许多年。

对于负责任，我想要说的是，从这一刻开始，我愿意承担起一切我应该负的责任，不要再给自己找借口。这些责任包括了对上帝的责任，对父母亲的责任，为人妻子及母亲的责任，以及对于我自己的责任。因为我不希望，未来的十年，我活得与过去十年没两样。为了得到不一样的结果，我想，我现在有需要作出改变。

上完课，我所做的第一件事情是传了一则简讯给老公，内容如下：hubby, i love you and chloe very very much. (注：老公一点反应也没有，所以我觉得他也很需要上课。)

第二件事，回到家中，妈咪问，“缴了S$1750的学费，你学到了什么？”我给了她一个拥抱说，“妈咪，我学会了爱就要说出口。”

第三件事，我抱起小小聿恩跟她说，“宝贝，妈咪好爱好爱你喔！”

道理，人人都懂，可是，能真正做到的，能有几人？上了Money & You, 我学习到了，要让爱你以及你所爱的人知道你爱他们；有什么事，想到了就要立即去做，不要给自己太多借口，因人生只有一次。

我衷心感谢林伟贤老师，Jason老师以及李海峰老师这三天以来无私的付出与教导。我真的觉得，每个人一生中，至少应该上一次Money & You!

决定

过去两个星期心情的起伏及思维的转变非常非常地大！我所做的其中一个决定是，我将会在一月份搬回老公的家，再次接受挑战与长辈同住。而且，我们还决定将买房子的计划押后一些些，因为老公想多花一年的时间，在家中陪伴母亲。原本听到他这个决定时，我非常非常的愤怒。气他为什么完全不考虑我的感受与委屈，也气他完全不尊重我们共同讨论所作的决定。发完脾气后，祷告，没用，还是一样气！可是这时候，耳边响起了亲子系列CD 里冯志美冯姐的话... 冯姐说，上帝的旨意是，我们应当敬重，跟随及服从我们的丈夫，当我们依照上帝的话语，听从我们丈夫的决定时，意味着我们将这事交到上帝的手中，而上帝必会给你最适当的安排。想到这里，我的心渐渐平静了下来。我想是的，我应当尊重老公的决定。他不是不爱护我，而是当他处于左右为难的情况时，作为妻子的，应当支持他，而不是为难他。我爱他，所以我选择跟随他的决定。想到这里，我的心变得很平静，没有浮躁与不安。这跟以往我一想到要回到那个家的心情是截然不同的。就好像我已经将这件事从我的肩上卸下，交到上帝与丈夫的手中，而我坚信他们会给予我最妥善的安排。

于是，我传了一则简讯给老公。“dear hubby, i m sorry that you are again caught in between. God has spoken to me just now, god told me to follow your decision, so no matter what you decision is, i will respect you, 'cos i know you will definitely give me a great home when u r ready. i m still learning to follow god's teaching, so pls forgive me for losing my temper. i m your wife, if i dont support u, who will?”

不骗你... 这事发生在25/11/07, 11.20pm... 从发出简讯的那一刻开始，直到现在，我的心再也不被这件事所困扰。这种感觉是很奇妙的，我心中的大石，终于放了下来。

i m ALWAYS faced with dilemma. ALWAYS need to go through a series of struggling prior to any purchase, especially when comes to chloe's baby gear selection. hubby always complaining that i have been too much of a perfectionist ...

after struggling for nearly 2 months, i FINALLY got a 2-in-1 walker (walker & bouncer) and a combi stroller (miracle turn) for little chloe. of 'cos, behind the scene, there r many many more other things to be considered, eg. the safetyness, the functions, the price, the color and bla bla bla ... hence, i m so so exhausted after making a decision. hai ... i really hope i can b a little more decisive and less perfectionist minded.

Last Vaccination Before 1 YO

took little chloe to see dr woon on thurs ... she weigh 8 kgs and 70 cms long now. dr woon given her rotavirus vaccination 2nd dose, and that settled all her vaccinations before 1 year old. look at the picture, does she look like a little boy? hehehe ... that's my little sweetie ...

Chloe Is Half A Year Old!

wow, little chloe has reached the half-year mark!! She is now spending most of the time she's awake playing, babbling, looking at and touching everything. she is able to sit momentarily without assistance (by leaning forward on both arms), and she begins to prop herself up on her arms and hold her chest off the ground, sort of doing a push up! i try putting her on floor as much as possible so that she can practice her push ups more often.

she can now sleeps through the night without waking up for milk milk. nevertheless, i still need to wake up once or twice in the middle of the night when she is going through an interval of very light slumber. she could be cooing, squirming or even doing push ups (with eyes close), but still be asleep (III) ... and i need to keep adjusting her position by putting her to sleep on her back (rather than tummy), pat pat her (if necessary) when she is on the verge of drifting off so that she can go back to sleep as quickly as possible. Looking after her is really an endless cycle, along the tender moments comes really tough adjustments, however i do enjoy every single moment of watching her development. It is something that cannot be repeated.

A Messy Eater

this is how messy she is when we are feeding her semi-solid. i think the bib has a more balanced diet than she does, heehee. when feeding, i always take a bite of her food, react in an exaggerated way and say, "hmmmmm ........ YUMMMMY!" let her catch the spirit so that she will guai guai finishes the whole 4 oz of semi-solid. i m now giving her roughly 1 1/2 oz of Heinz fruity puree and followed by 2 1/2 oz of Holle organic millet porridge + Heinz organic golden vegetable mash for lunch and dinner. Holle is a brand from Germany.

judging from the number of posts i have been putting up, i guess one would realize that i've been SUPER BUSY recently. when I've got a lot of working assignments on hand, i can be somewhat myopic. i have more than 70 students at hand ... hopefully can accomplish at least 50 of them ... so that I don't have to work for the next half a year and can focus more on the needs of my baby. i feel so so sooooooooo guilty for not spending enough quality time with her nowadays, and frankly speaking, I wasn't prepared for that. i want to go to work, yet spend time with little chloe. sometimes I wonder how other mommies do it.

Jab Session

brought chloe to see pd Dr Woon for jab the other day. this time round, she weighed 7.8kgs and was 68cm long. pd given her hexa 6-in-1 and rotavirus oral medicine. there were 26 patients on Dr Woon's list, end up we waited for nearly 3 hours before it was chloe's turn. gosh ...

Chloe's Hand & Foot Print

we bought a print putty kit the other day and did chloe's hand & foot print on our own when hubby was here. it was fun!!!! ... but very messy ...

at first, i kneaded the putty for approximately 30 sec to remove any flakes and bubbles. after that, i placed it on a piece of aluminum foil and used the wooden rolling pin to smooth out the surface. then, we gently pressed chloe's right foot onto the putty and removed. we managed to get a good foot print with just 2 attempts. after cutting the putty into rectangular shape, we decided to use the excess to do another hand print. muahaha ... this time round is tougher ... whenever we tried to remove chloe's palm from the putty, she grasped it tightly. gosh ... however, we still managed to get a nice hand print after several attempts. little chloe obviously puzzled by what we did. she was a little frustrated while looking at us pressing her hand into the putty again and again. hahaha ... here are some pictures taken ...
